| Teriyaki,
meaning literally to "glaze-grill" was developed
centuries ago in Japan, and consists of two words. "Teri" means
to "glaze" while "yaki" means to
grill. Originally only used to marinate fish before cooking,
when the Japanese migrated to Hawaii, they added locally
grown ingredients, and extended its useage to meats and
poultry, as well as fish. |
