It has recently been reported in the media that some
soy products have been found to contain possibly carcinogenic
substances called 3MCPD and 1,3-DCP (chloropropynols).
3-MCPD and 1,3-DCP can occur during the production
of acid-hydrolysed protein. However, these compounds
are not detected in Kikkoman Soy Sauces.Kikkoman Soy
Sauces are made by a natural brewing method, which
does not use the production process of acid-hydrolysed
protein.
So that you can enjoy our products with utmost confidence, our sauces have
been thoroughly tested by independent organisations using the most stringent
testing standards. The Joint Food Safety and Standards Group, UK, published
its findings in September 1999 and reported that Kikkoman Soy Sauces have
no detectable amount of 3-MCPD or 1,3-DCP.
